Psychiatrists and health agencies admit that long term data on ADHD drug effects is limited.
However, some long term research has linked the condition, and the use of drugs to treat it with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
University of Utah, correlated data with medical records checking ADHD disorder outcomes. Concluding people with ADHD were more than twice as likely to be diagnosed with a movement disorder, while those on stimulant drugs had an especially pronounced risk of 8.6 times higher rate in the population.
With so many side effects coming to light, knowing drugs don’t cure ADHD, we surely have to ask the questions if drugs are causing more harm long term than good?
Parents will need to reconsider long term factors for their children.
